About Abel Estate

Abel Estate is a lakeside vineyard wedding venue in Kumeu wine country, 30 minutes from the Auckland CBD. It was once the working vineyard Abel and Co, and it began hosting weddings under new owners in the 1990s.

The 2 hectares of manicured grounds sit beside a private lake, and the dining, dancing and ceremony areas were renovated in 2023. A marquee added in 2024 seats up to 100 guests, with transparent sides that open for a breeze and give a wet weather option.

The venue is designed for up to 100 guests, with one wedding a day and exclusive use of the full venue and grounds. The Winery Room has a 270-degree view of the grounds and the Rotunda Terrace sits by the lake.

A private suite lets couples get ready on the day. Planning and styling help is included, and cultural weddings are catered for, including Chinese, Filipino, Indian and Pasifika celebrations.
