The Hunting Lodge is a working winery in Waimauku, in West Auckland wine country about 30 minutes from the CBD. It once was a hunting lodge for the Kerr-Taylor family, and the property is home to some of New Zealand's original Sauvignon Blanc commercial vines.
The historic homestead holds a bistro-style restaurant overlooking the vineyard, while a separate lawn bar and cellar door serve wood-fired pizzas, burgers, platters, wine tasting paddles and local beers. For events, couples and companies can choose between the new Barn, custom built with weddings in mind and styled as a modern rustic blank canvas, the historic restaurant, and the cellar door with private tasting and meeting rooms.
The venue hosts weddings, private and corporate functions, board meetings and music festivals, with live concerts across the property in summer. Wheelchair accessible parking, entrance, seating and toilets are in place.
